Every summer we hold 5 swimming pond open days. These give you the chance to see a swimming pond close up, talk to us and the owners, and of course have a swim. Dates and locations for our summer 2024 swimming pond open days will be listed here in early 2024 (February or March). These are usually held in the Home Counties - for example open days in previous years have been in Herts, Bucks, Berks, Hants, and Kent.
This year we are trying something new and also holding a winter open day! Inspired by the likes of Wim Hof, and as a bit of fun, the idea is to come and dip in the swimming pond when the water is cold, probably around 5C (almost certainly between 2-7C). This will be held on Saturday 3rd February near Tring, Herts, from 11am-3pm. There is a sauna at this property and you are welcome to use it as much as you like. For this reason though, we need to know how many people are coming at what times, as places may (or may not...) be limited.
Please let us know if you are interested in attending the winter open day or any of the summer ones, and we will email you more details nearer the time.
If you are not able to come to one of our open days you can see videos here and below of some of our open days in recent years, both of visitors swimming in swimming ponds for the first time, and of swimming pond owners talking about their own ponds.
"I have to say it was the open day which sold the concept to us. You just have to get into the water to really appreciate it."
Sarah Lynch Kent
"Fresh water is a different experience, totally different. I had no idea when we did it."
Sarah Doukas Hampshire
"It's an immaculate temperature, that's the first thing. And it doesn't feel like swimming anywhere else..."
"It feels so clean, it's like having a really nice bath. I didn't think it would feel like this, it's something completely different."
"It's natural and it's clean as well, it's a real pleasure. And surprisingly warm."
"It's really pleasant... it's really nice to be in water that you don't have to rinse off afterwards."
