Natural Swimming Pond Photo Gallery - Bedfordshire, 2009

This natural swimming pond near Milton Keynes is a lake conversion and is approximately 35m long and 500sqm in area.  We drained the old lake, re-profiled it and added a liner and filtration system.  See the end of the photo sequence for "before", "during" and "after" photos.

The beautiful aquamarine colour is due to the exceptionally low levels of phosphate in the water which result in it being completely algae-free.  Again the filtration system here is completely natural - there have been no chemicals added in any way and our filtration system focuses on keeping the nutrient levels low and in balance (easier said than done!).
