About us
gartenART are the
leading UK company in the design and construction of natural
swimming pools, having built over 50 natural pools since we were established in
late 2003.
At gartenART our
philosophy is that water design and technology for the 21st century
is about creatively blending the best of the old and the new.
Natural pools are so successful because they work with nature rather
than against it, and at the same time we continually look for new
ways to improve our design, technology and services further still.
We are members of
the IOB (International Organisation for Swimming Ponds) and have
recently co-founded the BANSP (British Association for Natural
Swimming Pools) in order to provide a forum and a set of standards
for the growing UK swimming pond industry. More information on
this to follow... We are also members of the APL (Association
of Professional Landscapers).
Why gartenART?
There are now
many companies offering to build swimming ponds, possibly even your
local landscaper - why should you choose us?
- We have built
more swimming ponds than anyone else in the UK, currently numbering
over 50, and in this time we have developed a strong track record of success.
Building a swimming pond is not as simple as it might sound and we would strongly recommend you talk to existing customers
of any swimming pond company you are looking at, and ideally visit a
swimming pond they have built.
- We believe the effectiveness of our technology is second-to-none. We use as
our technical consultants a German company called Polyplan, who lead
the international natural swimming pool community in the development and application of new technology for both residential and large public natural swimming pools.
- However, we are
not a franchisee. This means we can adapt our technology to
suit every situation, based on our understanding of "first
principles" rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.
- We offer a
variety of build options. We can design and build everything
ourselves, or we can work with you or local contractors.
- We offer a
variety of design options, ranging from formal to natural, and
with proportions for the filtration area ranging from 20% to 50%.
- In short, our speciality is
the unique combination of expertise and experience in three essential areas - design, construction and
technology.

Tim Evans,
owner and managing director, co-founded gartenART in 2003 and has a wealth
of experience in all aspects of natural swimming pool design,
construction, technology and project management. He is usually the
main initial customer contact. |
| Frank Drewes, head
of design, is a
qualified landscape architect with nearly 20 years' experience in garden design and landscape architecture in Italy, Germany and the
UK. As well as leading the design for each project, he also
ensures that on the project management side each project is carried
out smoothly to plan and schedule. In his four years with us
Frank has worked on over 40 swimming pond projects. |

Erin Sugrue
joined our design team in 2008 from New Zealand and works
closely with Frank in the office. Along with Frank she will be
your main contact at the design stage. She is also an expert in
water plants and always visits the site during the planting stage.

| Jose Lopez,
construction manager,
joined us in 2007 and leads our construction teams. He has
over 15 years' experience
and a wealth of knowledge in hard and soft landscaping in the USA and the UK,
and has built approximately 35 swimming ponds. |

Ohad Oren,
foreman, is originally from Israel and in his 4 years with us has worked on the construction of
approximately
40 swimming ponds. |
| David Geddis,
foreman, has 25 years'
experience in the construction industry and is qualified in groundworks, landscaping, excavation and drainage.
In his time with us he has built over 10 swimming ponds. |
