About us
gartenART are the
leading UK company in the design and construction of natural
swimming pools, having built approximately 50 natural pools since we were established in
2003.
At gartenART our
philosophy is that water design and technology for the 21st century
is about creatively blending the best of the old and the new.
Natural pools are so successful because they work with nature rather
than against it, and at the same time we continually look for new
ways to improve our technology and services further still.
Why gartenART?
- We are one of
the longest established natural swimming pool companies in the UK,
and have built more natural pools than anyone else in this country.
We have a track record of success and you are welcome to talk to our
customers and visit their pools.
- We believe the effectiveness of our technology is second-to-none. We use as
our technical consultants a German company called Polyplan, who lead
the international natural swimming pool community in the development and application of new technology for both residential and large public natural swimming pools.
- However, we are
not a franchisee. This means we can adapt our technology to
suit every situation, based on our understanding of "first
principles" rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.
- We offer a
variety of build options. We can design and build everything
ourselves, or we can work with you or local contractors.
- We offer a
variety of design options, ranging from formal to natural, and
with proportions for the filtration area ranging from 20% to 50%.
- In short, our speciality is
the unique combination of expertise and experience in three essential areas - design, construction and
technology.
Our team
We also have great
people! All our design and construction work is carried out
in-house by highly-skilled and long-standing teams, of whom the key members are:
 |
|
Tim Evans,
owner and managing director, co-founded gartenART in 2003 and has a wealth
of experience in all aspects of natural swimming pool design,
construction, technology and project management. Tim is the
main initial customer contact and oversees all projects from
conception to completion. |
| Frank Drewes, head
of design, is a
qualified landscape architect with over 15 years' experience in garden design and landscape architecture in Italy, Germany and the
UK. As well as leading the design for each project, he also
ensures that on the project management side each project is carried
out smoothly to plan and schedule. In his four years with us
Frank has worked on 40 swimming pond projects. |
|
 |
 |
|
Erin Sugrue
joined our design team two years ago from New Zealand and works
closely with Frank in the office. Along with Frank she will be
your main contact at the design stage. She is also an expert in
water plants and always visits the site during the planting stage.
|
| Jose Lopez,
foreman,
leads our construction team and has over 15 years experience
and a wealth of knowledge in hard and soft landscaping in the USA and the UK.
His dedication, energy and commitment to his work are outstanding,
and he will be your main face-to-face contact on site during the
construction stage. Since joining us in 2007 he has built over 20
swimming ponds. |
|

"I would
happily recommend gartenART. I felt immediately that they
understood where we were coming from and saw exactly what was
needed and how the site could be transformed, right down to the
small details. Their team was so nice, so helpful, always
going the extra mile."
Wendy Bathurst, Herts
|
|
"It was
done neatly, tidily and on time. I really liked the
people gartenART put on the job too - really knowledgeable and
helpful. I'd have no hesitation in recommending them."
Stephen Margolis, St John's Wood,
London |
|
"gartenART
were extremely professional and I knew at every stage exactly
what was going on, If I had a question Jose explained
everything in layman's terms. I was expecting a lot more
mess and, frankly, more delays, but it was slick, quick and
clean"
Sacha
Cole, Herts |
|
"Tim
and the team were a pleasure to work with and attended the
launch, even following me into the pool one chilly November
morning. True commitment"
Marc Hayton, Managing Director,
Foxhills Spa and Resort |
|
"Would
I recommend gartenART? Absolutely and without hesitation."
