What do we offer in the UK?
In the last five
years gartenART have become established as the leading and most
innovative UK company in the design and construction of natural
swimming pools and swimming ponds, and we now offer two main routes
to creating your own natural pool.
The first is
a full design and construction service. We can
manage the entire process from the initial consultation with
you, through the design and technical specifications, to the
construction and final completion of the pond. There is
also an optional maintenance service afterwards.
The second
and increasingly popular option is a design, supply and consultancy service
which enables
you to build your own swimming pond, or to use local
contractors as you wish. We will provide you with all the
technical drawings and information you need, and supervision on
the phone or on site as required. For more on how this
process works please see details of our
international design service.
There is also
a halfway option where you or local contractors would carry our
some of the construction work (e.g. excavation) and we would
carry out more specialised elements (e.g installation of the
purification technology).
Whether we do
all the construction work, none of it, or part of it, there are
always three stages in building a gartenART natural pool:
1. Design
Consultation (on-site or remote)
2. Design and
Technical Specifications
3. Construction
1.
Design Consultation
The first crucial
step for all successful designs is to get to know what you are
really looking for - what are your preferences and your style, what
are your likes and dislikes.
The purpose
of a Design Consultation is for us to understand this very
clearly and also to understand the requirements of the site -
the location, climate, and the specific local circumstances and
conditions.
If it is
practical to visit you on site we generally recommend this, but
we have also developed a system where the Design Consultation
can be carried out remotely. For more details please see
our International section.
At the end of the
Design Consultation we will have all the materials and information
necessary for our designers to carry out the Design process in our
London office.
We will also produce a
Design Consultation Report outlining the content and conclusions of
our discussions and survey, and provide a more accurate estimate of the costs and options involved
with your project. This report provides the basis for
proceeding with the Design stage.
The fee for
an on-site Design Consultation is £400 + travel + VAT (within 125 miles of London,
to be discussed if further than this). The fee for a
Design Consultation within London is £200 + VAT,
and for a remote Design Consultation also £200 + VAT.
2.
Design and Technical Specifications
The Design stage
involves the production of 2D and 3D designs and technical
specifications, as well as more accurate estimates of costs, which
all form the basis for the Construction stage.
First we will produce a
concept 2D design and communicate with you by email and
phone to finalise this so that you are happy to proceed.
Please see examples here.
We next create a 3D
computer model, which we can show you
in person or email a video walk-through which you can
easily play on your computer. Please see
examples here. At this stage we will also give you a
more accurate estimate of the construction costs involved.
The 3D model is an integral part of our design process as it
enables you to see your vision as virtual reality,
looking from different angles and perspectives to get a
real sense of the final result. The 3D model also helps
the construction team get a very
clear vision of what they are building.
Finally we
produce all the detailed design documentation and specifications
which will be used by the construction team in
building your natural pool to our specific requirements.
Please see examples here.
We can
explain more about the Design and Construction stages during the
Design Consultation.
3.
Construction Stage
If we are carrying
out the construction
it will take 4-6 weeks to complete, depending on the size and
complexity.
Depending on the season the pool will be ready to swim
in within 2-3 weeks.
If you or local
contractors are carrying out the construction we will always be in
touch to ensure that everything is progressing as planned, and can
visit the site as required.
Maintenance
We will always be
in touch after the construction and are as excited as you are to see
your natural swimming pool growing and maturing over the following months
and years.
We offer
maintenance as an additional service to our main design and construction
service.
The maintenance
required for a natural swimming pool is anyway much lower than for a conventional swimming pool as nature itself carries out the cleaning
service.
We generally recommend we carry out a service once or
twice a year to
remove sediments and to check the equipment, as well taking care of
proportional growth of suitable plants. We can also visit more
regularly if you wish.
